"'Knit fast, purl young' is the motto of this London-based knitting group intent on taking over the world, one new knitter at a time. It's a broad church (they welcome anyone, old or young), and remarkably friendly too, despite the name. The group's current project is knitting a chairity scarf for a Trafalgar Square lion - sounds a tad tricky, but beginners will be taught as long as they turn up with needles, yarn and bundles of energy. Meet-ups take place in pubs, cafes and parks."
